Bringing Back Woodland: Kilminning

Updated: Mar 22, 2022

What a glorious weekend for tree planting! This was our biggest tree-planting event so far, with the aim of planting around 2000 trees at Kilminning Nature Reserve near Crail. The sun shone down all weekend and an army of volunteers gave up their time to help us achieve our goal, and now the results are in:

Saturday - 750 trees, 74 m double hedging (300 plants) and 100+ willow wands

Sunday - 840 trees, 46m double hedging (170 plants) and 100+ willow wands

152 people attended, ranging in age from 3 to 79

We could not be happier! Thank you to everyone who came along.

Quote of the weekend - "I didn't know planting trees could be so much fun" (Elliot, aged 11).
